Where to begin....
In my typical pattern, I spent a great deal of time researching and pondering on what my first blog post should contain, and how to do it perfectly. There seemed to be no right answer, so I decided to start with a brief introduction about myself, my business, and what I hope to contribute via a blogging platform.
So, a little about myself.... I grew up in rural Kentucky with hard working parents and two younger siblings. I was never a huge fan of school, mostly because it was rarely a challenge. I found my entrepreneurial passion at an early age through clubs like DECA in high school, and starting work around age 12, learning from a mentor who taught me the in's and out's of the vending machine business and how to ensure that you make a profit.
After high school, I attended one year at Eastern Kentucky University before heading to boot camp in the Marine Corps with an assignment in the local reserve unit. Shortly after finishing my training I was injured in a motorcycle accident, and subsequently embarked on a 7 year long struggle with alcohol and substance use that I miraculously survived.
After embarking on my journey in recovery, I was given an amazing gift of a new perspective on life, and what's really important. What's important to me today is improving the lives of others, while doing work and making investments that allow the time and financial security to enjoy life to it's fullest. The best lesson I've learned is that the two things can be done at the same time, and I'll share more about that in my next post.
